The School of Men: A Note on Brotherhood

What alumni mean when they call Njoro Boys 'the school of men' — an essay on identity, discipline, and belonging.

There is a phrase you hear whenever two Njoro Boys alumni meet — 'the school of men.' It is not swagger. It is a memory: of morning parades, of house captains, of teachers who expected more of you than you thought possible. This short essay, contributed by an alumnus of the class of 2000, reflects on what that brotherhood has meant across the decades — and what it demands of us now that we sit as fathers, uncles, mentors, and citizens.
